Winter Car Safety Tips

You want to make sure even though you are getting a great price that you are still getting the benefits of warranty. You’ll want to know where you need to go or what you need to do should a defect occur.

Tire sizes can be a little daunting to try to understand. While it’s definitely important to know what size tires go on your car, it doesn’t hurt to know exactly what all those numbers and letters mean. I will use this example to run through each part of the tire size: P185/60R 14 82 H.

Know what you’ll be using your tires for. If you only use your truck primarily on the highways and roads and never have to confront rough off-road terrains, then you’ll probably want toyota cheyenne that have a lower profile (sidewall size) to ensure better handling. If you drive both on highways and off road, then you’d want a higher profile tire to absorb harshness. Also, make sure there are no cracks in the sidewall.

All season tires are made to be adequate in all weather but is not best for winter snow driving. These are not aggressive as real snow tires specifically made for wintertime driving capabilities. When all season gets packed with snow or slush your car loses traction quickly thus causing accidents.

In general, always buy tires at least in pairs. Never put one new tire on one wheel when the other has considerable wear. Generally, it’s best to put your new tires on the front to take advantage of better steering and handling with a new tire. But if your car is rear wheel drive, be aware that badly worn tires in the back will cause your car to skid and lose control quickly in wet or slippery conditions. If you rotate your tires regularly, say every 7500 or 10,000 miles at least, then your tires should all wear out around the same time and it’s best to replace all four as a set.

My “cheap tires” lasted me a total of 22,000 miles. My old “Expensive Tires” averaged over 50,000 per set. I shelled out the dough for the good ones this time.

For frugal folks, the initial price matters but so does the durability. These were among the cheapest tires I could find to buy. Then they have remained trouble free with just a few rotations. That means no excessive bumping as they wore. Just smooth performance all the way.
